The seed of Studio Snack was planted in a conversation at this bench at Here East👇🏼

We kept having chats we wished we had recorded. So we did – not for fame, nor for money but for fun. Equipped with lockdown Zoom sound training from Patrick Scally, who was our Trampery house manager at the time, and lots of curiosity, we created a little audio playground. It became a space to explore creative ideas, eat some snacks and reflect on our work in design.

Our four years of podcasts have had us learning about doughnut economics by eating doughnuts, we’ve interviewed a dog, explored the sounds of our work and calculated the crunchy acoustics of snacks with a decibel meter. We’ve touched actual artefacts at the V&A. Lydia invented a mozzarella plant, tried (and failed) to get AI to design a stick of rock and broke AI twice with an Eccles cake. And we ate a sandwich in Sandwich.

Along the way, we learned a lot about creativity itself. We realised how important is to play, to restock our visual libraries, and to look away from the screen.

But like a box of chocolates, all good things come to an end. Thank you, three and a half listeners, for coming along for the ride. We have had the best creative adventure ever. We finish this in its podcast format, to make space for something new.

What’s next? Well, that’s a story for next year.

With love and biscuits,
Lydia & Narcis
